1. Scientist D ( one post UR )

Revised Pay Band + Grade Pay (15600-39100+ 7600)

Qualification & Experience: Essential

MBBS degree as recognized by MCI or first class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological subjects from a recognized University or equivalent.

Or

Second class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline subjects with PhD degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

(ii) Eight years research experience in the relevant areas of molecular biology/immunology/biochemistry.

Desirable:

(i) Doctorate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or MD in the related subject for candidates with first class relevant degree.

(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in molecular biology/Immunology/biochemistry.

(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Job Requirements: To plan, formulate and independently carry out research work on malaria and other vector borne disease, to supervise research work and carry out any other work assigned by the Director.

2. Scientist C (One Post UR)

Revised Pay Band + Grade Pay (15600-39100 + 6600)

Essential: MBBS degree recognized by MCI or first class Master Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological subjects from a recognized University or equivalent.

Or

Second class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Science or relevant biological discipline subjects with PhD degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

ii) Four years research experience in infectious diseases especially vector borne diseases.

Desirable : (i) Doctorate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or MD in the related subject with first class relevant degree.

(ii) Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in vector borne diseases (vector biology & control malariology) with original work as evidenced by research publications in peer reviewed journals.

(iii) Knowledge of computer applications.

Job Requirements: To plan, formulate and independently carry out research work on malaria and other vector borne disease, to supervise research work and carry out any other work assigned by the Director.

3. Scientist B (1 post UR)

Revised Pay Band+Grade Pay (15600-39100 + 5400)

Essential: MBBS degree recognized by MCI or first class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological subjects from a recognized University or equivalent.

Or

Second class Master’s Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline subjects with PhD degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable:(i) Doctorate Degree in Life/Biological Sciences or MD in the related subject for candidates with first class relevant degree.

(ii) Three years research/teaching experience in communicable diseases especially vector borne diseases.

(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Job Requirements: To plan, formulate and carry out research work on malaria and other vector borne disease and carry out any other work assigned by the Director

S.No. 1 to 3 Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications.

Note: S.No.1 & 2 PhD degree in relevant subjects relevant to ICMR shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.

Age: S.No.1 Not exceeding 45 years, S.No.2. Not exceeding 40 years and for S.No.3 Not exceeding 35 years relaxable upto 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard.

Private practice is not allowed. He/She will be governed by the new restructured defined Contributory Pension system as per provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division) Notification No.5/7/2003-ECB &PR dated 22.12.2003 effective from 1.1.2004.
