WALK-IN-INTERVIEW for SRF/JRF/RA/Technical Assistant:

The eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 07.09.2010 & 08.09.2010 between 9.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. for the following temporary posts to work under the research projects at Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

I.Project: DBT project on “Functional Analysis of gene regulatory networks during flower and seed development in rice”.

Duration: 1 year

1. Research Associate(1 post)
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. or M.Sc., degree in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology[Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany from a recognized and reputed University.
Desirable: Experience in functional analysis of candidate genes in rice through genetic engineering approach.
Experience: 2-3 years research experience in genetic engineering of plants with specialization in plant tissue culture, genetic transformation and gene expression studies. Research publications in the relevant area.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.22,000/- p.m. to Rs.24,000/- plus HRA dependents on qualifications and research experience.
2.Junior Research Fellow(1 post)
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. degree in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany from a recognized and reputed University.
Desirable : 2-3 years research experience in genetic engineering of plants with specialization in rice tissue culture, genetic transformation and molecular biology techniques desirable. CSIR/UGC/ICAR NET qualification is desirable
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.12,000/- p.m. plus HRA for first 2 years and Rs.14,000/- plus HRA from third year onwards
II. Project: DBT project on “Development and evaluation of salt and drought tolerant transgenic rice”.

Duration: 1 year

1.Junior Research Fellow(1post)
Essential Qualifications:
M.Sc. degree in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany from a recognized and reputed University.
Desirable :
2-3 years research experience in genetic engineering of plants with specialization in rice tissue culture, genetic transformation and molecular biology techniques desirable. CSIR/UGC/ICAR NET qualification is desirable.
Emoluments:
Consolidated pay of Rs. 12,000/- p.m. plus HRA for first 2 years and Rs.14,000/- plus HRA from third year onwards
III.Project: DBT project on “Functional Genomics-Phase-II sub-project-II Bacterial blight resistance”

Duration:1 year

1.Senior Research Fellow (2 posts)
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. degree in Plant Biotechnology/Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Plant Breeding & Genetics/Botany from a recognized and reputed University.
Desirable : 2-3 years research experience in genetic engineering of plants with specialization in rice tissue culture, genetic transformation and molecular biology techniques desirable. CSIR/UGC/ICAR NET qualification is desirable.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs. 12,000/- p.m. plus HRA for first 2 years and Rs.14,000/- plus HRA from third year onwards
V.Project: ICAR (National Fund)project on “Molecular Basis of Insect-Plant interactions in rice”.

Duration: 1 year

1.Research Associate(1 post)

(UGC/ICAR/NET qualified candidates will be given preference)
Essential Qualifications : Ph.D. in any branch of Life Science or M.Sc. with three years research experience in field of molecular biology/biotechnology as evidenced with good publications.
Desirable: Experience of working on insect-plant interaction studies, gene cloning, expression studies with bioinformatics knowledge.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.22,000/- p.m. to Rs.24,000/- plus HRA dependents on qualifications and research experience.

Essential Qualifications (EQ): M.Sc. degree with two years research experience in field of molecular biology/biotechnology as evidenced with good publications.

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Phil in any branch of Life Science or MCA with specialization in bioinformatics.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience of working on bioinformatics on insect/plant genome studies.
Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.12,000/- TO Rs.14,000/- p.m. plus HRA depending upon qualifications.

I.Project: NAIP sub-project on “Development and Maintenance of Rice Knowledge Management Portal (RKMP)”.

Duration: 1 year

1.Research Associate(1 post): Domain Expert(Content Aggregation)
Essential Qualifications (EQ): Doctoral/Masters Degree in Agriculture/Masters in IT in Agriculture/Plant Sciences/Equivalent Disciplines from a recognized and reputed University with proficiency in Computers.
Desirable Qualifications: Proven ability in publishing online content, ICT Usage, content search and content editing. Should have the ability to comprehend technical data and create content based on the meaningful interpretations. Ability to develop web based content on various platforms. Knowledge on rice related technologies.
Emoluments: Emoluments: Consolidated pay of Rs.18,000/- p.m. plus HRA for Doctoral and Rs.17,000/-p.m. plus HRA for Masters.
2.Research Associate(1 post): Domain Expert (Agriculture)
Essential Qualifications (EQ): Doctoral/Masters Degree in Agriculture/plant sciences/equivalent disciplines from a recognized and reputed University with proficiency in Computers.
Desirable Qualifications: Sound inter-disciplinary knowledge of agriculture and allied subjects. Ability to transform research content into extension related materials, experience in report writing.

II.Project: Network project on “Development of New Plant Type Varieties with higher yield and inbuilt resistance to major pest and diseases”.
