Reliance Institute of Life Sciences is offering a program in Manufacturing for the academic year of 2011 and 2012. The program aims to impart training in various areas of biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals and cell therapy product manufacturing. The details of the program are given below.

Young Manufacturing Professionals' Program

1. Program (12 months - full time)
 

1.1 Class room training: 2 months [6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) 6 hours per day]

1.2 On the job training: 10 months [6 days a week (Monday to Saturday)] in any of the following areas

Recombinant therapeutics
Plasma proteins
Cell therapy
Biochemicals
Pharmaceuticals
 

Three quarterly reports need to be submitted during on-the-job training.

2. Eligibility

Candidates who have graduated in 2010/2011 with the following degrees:
 

BSc (Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Chemistry)  or

Diploma (Pharmacy/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering)

Final year students who are writing their examinations this year are also eligible to apply. The applicants must hold a first class in his/her academics at the time of application. The maximum age limit for the admission to this program is 23 years.

3. Application Fee

The application form must be downloaded from the web site (http://www.rils.ac.in) and filled up legibly. A nonrefundable application fee of INR 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) has to be paid through demand draft in favor of 'Reliance Institute of Life Sciences' payable at Mumbai along with the application. Completed application form along with the application fee needs to be sent via courier to the following address:

4. Selection Procedure

The selection will be done through an on-line test comprising questions from biotechnology, quantitative analysis and English comprehension. There will be 60 multiple choice questions which will have to be answered via internet portal within 45 minutes. The address of the internet portal and the time of the examination will be notified to the eligible candidates via email at appropriate time.

The on-line test will be followed by a personal interview which will be conducted in Navi Mumbai.

5. Stipendium

All selected candidates will be given a stipendium of INR 180,000/- per annum during the training period (12 months).

6. Faculty
 

Faculty members are drawn primarily from Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. Some of the faculty will come from other companies of Reliance Group and other industries.

7. Academic Infrastructure
 

The class room training will be conducted in lecture halls equipped with computer, LCD projector and audio system. The projects will be carried out in state-of-the-art research and development laboratories in Reliance Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd.

8. Venue for the Program
 

The program will be conducted at Dhirubhai Ambani Life Sciences Center, Navi Mumbai and at manufacturing plant in Worli, Mumbai.

9. Placement
 

Participant, who completes the program successfully (with first class), will be placed in Reliance Life Sciences.

10. Accommodation
 

Shared accommodation and transport will be provided for the first 15 days free of cost to the outstation candidates. However, within this period, the participants will have to find suitable shared accommodation on their own in Navi Mumbai (Airoli/Ghansoli) area.

11. Cafeteria
 

There is one cafeteria in the campus, which provides breakfast, lunch and evening snacks at affordable rates.

12. Healthcare
 

Medical doctors are available in the campus to take care of an emergency. Ailments can be treated in public and private hospitals at Navi Mumbai, which are accessible 24 hours.

13. Location
 

Dhirubhai Ambani Life Sciences Center is located on Thane-Belapur Road opposite to Rabale railway station at Navi Mumbai. This Center is well connected with city center via public transport systems.
