ICMR has sanctioned a CAR Project Grant entitled "Emerging Areas in Molecular Medicine" to Special Centre for Molecular Medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru University for the duration of 5 years duration.
Applications are invited for the following purely temporary positions under this project. The initial appointment will be for one year and will be annually extended based on satisfactory performance of the fellow.
1. Technical Officer (One) (Consolidated Salary Rs. 30,810/- p.m.)
Job Description: Overall Laboratory management, i.e. maintenance of the laboratory equipments, procurement of new equipments, to assist Ph.D. students and trainees for their experiments with state of the art equipments (Fluorescent/ Laser based Microscopes, Real-Time PCR, FACS/Ultra Centrifuges etc.)
Qualifications:
• Masters Degree with minimum 55% marks in biological sciences / chemistry or related subjects from any recognized university.
• The candidates should have 2-3 years experience in the handling of scientific laboratory instruments and should have knowledge of basic instruments commonly used in biological research and computer application.
• The candidate should have good communication and inter personal skills
• Should have working experience of fluorescent / laser based microscopes (desirable)
2. Sr. Technical Assistant (One) (Consolidated Salary Rs. 27,397/- p.m)
Job Description: To assist in the overall management as described above (under the job description of Technical Officer) as well as to look after project related responsibilities (Correspondence, proper record maintenance of purchases, preparation of annual report & statement of expenditure and related field work.
Qualifications:
• Masters Degree with minimum 55% marks in any branch of sciences from any recognized university.
• The candidates should have at least One year experience in handling of scientific laboratory equipments and should have knowledge of basic instruments commonly used in biological research and computer application.
• The candidate should have good communication and inter personal skills
