Applications are invited for appointment to the following temporary posts of the Research Project entitled “Development of Saltol / Sub1 mega rice varieties for flood prone salt affected areas and standardization of production technology”. The project is sanctioned for a period up to 31/03/2015. Candidates with the prescribed qualification/ experience in relevant fields are requested to apply.

The applicants will be shortlisted after screening. Age will not be a constraint in case of experienced / very deserving candidates.
Brief account of research work : The project envisages introgression of Saltol gene and Sub-1 gene into three major varieties of rice simultaneously and pyramiding of both genes into each variety at the final stage. It also involves hybridisation, phenotyping, in-vitro screening in hydroponics, DNA isolation, electrophoresis & genotyping using genetic markers, apart from parental polymorphism study and selection of both foreground & background markers for each variety and pest and disease screening of rice.
