IISER TVM Project Vacancy in Wellcome Trust/DBT Project

Applications are invited for a project assistant position in the Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance sponsored project entitled “Genetic analysis of crossover assurance mechanisms facilitating meiotic chromosome segregation”.

No. of positions: 1

Qualifications: Master’s degree in any area of Biological Sciences with minimum of 60% marks

Experience and Job description:  Applicants should have experience in basic molecular biology techniques including DNA isolation, gene cloning, PCR etc.  The selected candidate will be expected to assist research personnel in experimental work involving large scale genetic screening of yeast/bacterial genomic libraries. The candidate will be also responsible for general lab maintenance.

Age limit: 25 yrs or below. A relaxation of 5 yrs will be applicable to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and women candidates.

Salary: Rs. 16,000/- plus HRA per month.

Duration: Initial appointment for one year (extendable for additional two years based on performance).

Incomplete applications or those that do not meet the minimum criteria will not be considered. The position is purely temporary. While the candidate may apply for Ph.D program of the institute separately, appointment in the project does not guarantee such admission. Mere fulfilment of qualifications/experience requirements does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Candidates should bring originals of the certificate for the qualifying degrees as well as the category certificate, if applicable, during the interview.  No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
