Sponsored by:
Department of Biotechnology
About the Workshop Biology is becoming more and more informative science due to exponential growth of data generated through high throughput techniques.
Managing large scale heterogeneous dataset and analyzing these for research problem are
fundamental skills for a researcher/student/faculty of biology. To develop these skills this workshop introduces the essential tools and strategies that are available through the free statistical Language R. Participants will learn to write scripts and protocols for their research tasks, identify potential problems with their own data, and define their statistical needs. Case studies with common research scenarios such as microarray data will emphasize practical skills. Writing your own R functions and analysis scripts will be introduced at the beginning of the workshop and skills will be gradually built on over the course of the lectures.
