Applications on prescribed form are invited for filling up the following teaching positions in the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science in the university. Eligible candidates may apply on or before 30.09.2014.
1. Professor/Associate Professor - One in Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000+ AGP Rs.10000/9000
2. Assistant Professor - Two in Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100+ AGP Rs. 6000/-
PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR – 1
Specialization : Molecular Biology
Qualification and Experience :
a) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification in Human/Animal Biotechnology with specialization in Immunology and Molecular Biology and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 high impact and citation publications as books and/research papers as the first or corresponding author.
b) A minimum of Ten years of teaching experience in University/ Autonomous college, and /or experience in research at the University/ National level institutions/ industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
c) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
d) A minimum score of 400 for Professor/300 for Associate Professor as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based appraisal System (PBAS) as per the standards and guidelines set out by the University for direct appointments of lateral level.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – 02 (including 01 SFS)
Specialization : Bioinformatics
Qualification and Experience :
Ph.D. in Biotechnology or an allied discipline with M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry in the First division or equivalent grade from a recognized University/ Institute.
NET in Life Science or allied discipline in addition to the above qualification.
Experience : At least two years of Post-doctoral teaching and/or research experience in Bioinformatics or relevant field in a UGC recognized Institution of repute or international research institute/ University. Proof of research to be evidenced by publications in SCI-indexed journals of high impact factor as the first or corresponding author.
Note : University may consider exempting candidates from NET, who has been awarded Ph.D. degree from ‘A’ Grade accredited University following the procedure as notified by the UGC in its Regulations of 2009 and adopted by Jamia Hamdard.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The university reserves the right not to fill-up the vacancy if the circumstances so warrant and to call only short-listed candidates for test/ interview.
2. The university reserves the right to consider the name(s) of suitable candidates who may not have applied and also to relax the qualification and experience for deserving candidates, as approved by the Selection Committee.
3. Candidates called for interview will have to come to the place of interview at their own expenses and bring with them their original research papers, degrees and certificate etc. for verification.
4.Applications complete in all respects should reach to the Office of the Registrar, Establishment Section, Jamia Hamdard, Hamdard Nagar, New Delhi – 110 062 latest by 30.09.2014 (Tuesday) alongwith the following:
· Bio-data (highlighting personal details, academic records, teaching and research experience).
· Attested copies of certificates & testimonials in support of qualification and experience.
· Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- for the posts of Professor/Associate Professor and Rs. 300/- for Assistant Professor in favour of Registrar, Jamia Hamdard payable at New Delhi.
· Duly typed Annexure- A available with the application form.
·Duly filled in Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) proforma as per the UGC guidelines in Appendix III for Professor and Associate Professor.

6. Incomplete applications and those received after the closing date will not be entertained.
