KIIT-TBI BioIncubator invites applications from Indian Nationals for four (4) “SIIP (Social Innovation Immersion Program) Fellowships” granted under "Social Innovation Programme for Products Affordable & Relevant to Societal Health" (SPARSH) scheme of BIRAC, tenable at KIIT-TBI BioIncubator, Bhubaneswar.

The objective of the program is to create a pool of biotech "Social Innovators" to promote biotechnology based product innovations in "Maternal and Child Health".

KIIT-TBI BioIncubator has been established with support from BIRAC (DBT, GoI) & KIIT University with a motto to create and provide "a holistic ecosystem for nurturing and incubating ideas into commercially feasible ventures in various areas of life sciences".

YOU ARE ...

A qualified undergraduate (BTech, BE, MBBS) or a graduate (MSc/MS/MTech/MD/PhD) in life sciences, biomedical engineering, design engineering (including product design), medicine and human biology.

BSc candidates may also apply provided they submit their proof of accomplishment (For ex: presentation in International Conferences or student entrepreneur etc).

WE OFFER ...

A monthly “SIIP Fellowship” of Rs 45,000 (consolidated) for a period of 18months and Rs 5,00,000 kick start grant for prototype development.

The BioIncubator provides mentoring support and guidance to the “SIIP Fellows” throughout the duration of the project. The SIIP Fellows would also be encouraged, groomed to seek funding from various GoI agencies such as BIRAC, DBT, MSME etc.

WHAT WE EXPECT ...

The overarching mandate for the “SIIP Fellow” is to develop an innovative biotechnological intervention in the area of “Maternal and Child Health”. It is thus imperative that the candidates have a penchant for entrepreneurship.

Commitment for 18months and travel to survey primary, secondary and tertiary health settings in tribal, rural and urban areas of Odisha and preparing analysis reports pertaining to various avenues in need of biotechnological intervention.

Selected candidates would be asked to furnish their educational and employment certificates and shortlisted candidates would be called for a personal discussion/interaction/interview.

The proposal would be for assessment purpose only and may differ from the project actually executed. Hard copies need not be sent. Candidates would be informed of their application status and interim queries would not be entertained.
