A number of faculty positions (including backlog) at the level of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor are available in various Schools/Centres of the University.

SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES (SLS)

11. Professor in Immunology (Reserved for ST) (Backlog reserved vacancy)

Specialization: Experience in teaching a modern   course in Immunology at post-graduate level.

Research in the area of Immunology (including Cellular and Molecular Immunology) as evidenced  by quality research publications and guiding Ph.D.  students.

12. Professor in Biostatistics/Biomathematics  (Reserved for SC) (Backlog reserved vacancy)

Specialization: Experience in teaching a modern course in Biostatics/Bio-mathematics (with emphasis on addressing biological questions) at postgraduation level. Research in the area of Biostatics/Biomathematics/ applications of Statistics in addressing biological questions, Mathematical modeling of biological systems and analyses of large-scale biological sample data including genomics (microarray, next generation sequencing and gene expression) as evidenced by quality research publications and guiding Ph.D. students.

13. Associate Professor in Cellular & Molecular Neurobiology (Reserved for SC) (Backlog Reserved Vacancy)

Specialization: M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences e.g. Life Sciences /Zoology/ Neurosciences/ Physiology and a Ph.D in relevant subject.

Experience in teaching a modern course in Neurobiology/ Neuroscience/ Neurophysiology at undergraduate and/or post-graduate level. Research in the area of Cellular and Molecular Neuro-Biology/ Neuroscience (including Glial-Biology and neuronal electrophysiology) as evidenced by quality research publications and guiding Ph.D students. (For this post those candidates applied earlier in  response to Advertisement No. RC/47/2014 may not  apply but may update C.V., if so desire)

14. Associate Professor in Parasitology (Reserved for PH-VH)

Specializations: M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences e.g. Botany/Microbiology/ Physiology/Zoology and a Ph.D. in relevant subject. Candidate should have 08 years of post-doctoral research/teaching experience. Candidate should be able to participate in teaching courses on Parasitology and genomics/Cell biology/Cell signaling/ Molecular biology/ Techniques relevant to students pursuing M.Sc. in Life Sciences. One should have experience in handling modern/contemporary techniques in relevant research.

Desirable: Post-doctoral research including teaching experience should be in parasitology related topic as evidenced by track record of publications in indexed, reputed journals in the field during Doctoral/Postdoctoral studies is necessary. One should have experience in handling the parasites, such as Entamoeba histolytica, Leishmania, etc. and be well versed with latest techniques used in Parasitology research, such as imaging, next generation sequencing etc. as evidenced from publications. One is expected to be able to attract funding for research and collaborate with others for research and teaching activities.

15. Assistant Professor in Biophysics (Unreserved)

Specializations: M.Sc. or M.Tech in any branch of Science (Physical Science/Biological Science). A Ph.D. degree in a topic related to Biophysics/Biological Chemistry related to
understanding aspects of biological processes.

Candidate should be able to participate in teaching courses on Biophysics/Biophysical Chemistry including modern techniques e.g. latest spectroscopic techniques, etc used in biology as relevant to students pursuing M.Sc. in Life Sciences.

Desirable: Experience in theoretical or experimental Biophysics/Biophysical Chemistry as evidenced by track record of publications in indexed, reputed journals in the field. One should have experience in handling modern contemporary techniques in research in relevant field. One is expected to able to attract research funding and collaborate with others for research and teaching activities.
