National Workshop on
Relevance of Microscopy in Microbial Characterization
August 11 to 14, 2015
Amity University Uttar Pradesh is organizing a four-day workshop on “Relevance of Microscopy in
Microbial Characterization” in association with ICAR-National Bureau of Agriculturally Important
Microorganisms (NBAIM). The workshop will provide a forum to discuss latest developments in
Microscopy with its specific relevance to characterization of microorganisms. The goal of the workshop is
to come out with an effective strategy for improving Microscopic skills in order to help us to enhance our
understanding of microbes and their various beneficial characteristics.
Structure of the Workshop:
The proposed workshop aims to provide the hands-on training on the recent advances in microscopy with
special emphasis on microbial aspects and will cover the following broad topics of current scenario:
Structure and imaging of microorganisms
Live cell imaging
Multidisciplinary approaches phase contrast and immune-fluorescence microscopy for biological
sciences
Advances in confocal and electron microscopy
