The MCB Department at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, is going to complete 75 glorious years of excellence in science in 2016.
Starting as a Pharmacology Unit in 1941, MCB has grown into a centre of excellence in biology, nurturing stimulating academic environment for research and training in varied areas of biology, with a caring focus on the biomedical issues in the society. MCB has made pioneering contributions to our understanding of the basic biology of bacterial and viral diseases.
Over the years,the research work in MCB has diversified into cell and developmental biology, while maintaining its legacy on infectious disease research. The 75th birthday of our Department is going to be celebrated with the Symposium, "MCB75: from Molecules to Organisms".
This will honor the long-standing association between MCB and its collaborators, colleagues, peers, and alumni from all over India and abroad. We extend hearty welcome to one and all to join us in this celebration of Science.
