Jawaharlal Nehru University has been granted funds by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India to initiate an Inter-School programme in JNU to strengthen training and research called "DBT-Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-Interdisciplinary Life Science Programme for Advanced Research and education" with the broad project area entitled "From Molecules to Systems: Exploring biological space using chemical and synthetic biology" cutting across Physical, Chemical and Biological Sciences.

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary posts at various levels in the Group-1 of the Project. The JRF positions in the project are upto March 2016.

Project Sub-Title: Identifying targets for therapeutics in neurodegenerative disorders.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 Post

Essential qualifications: The candidate should possess M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Zoology/Botany/Allied Biological subjects

Desired Experience: Experienced in primary culture of neurons and microscopy.

Investigator: Prof. B. N. Mallick, School of Life Sciences
Fellowship: Rs. 12000 + 30% HRA p.m.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 Post

Essential qualifications: The candidate should possess M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Zoology/Botany/Allied Biological subjects

Desired Experience: Experienced in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture techniques.

Investigator: Prof. S. K. Goswami, School of Life Sciences
Fellowship: Rs. 12000+30% HRA p.m.

Project Sub-Title: Creating a repressor mimetic for regulating fungal ERG11 gene and treating fungal infections.

Essential qualifications: The candidate should possess M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Zoology/Botany/Allied Biological subjects

Desired Experience: Experienced in cell culture and animal experiments involving assaying cell signalling and cellular redox system.

Investigator: Dr. Rohini Muthuswami, School of Life Sciences
Fellowship: Rs. 12000+30% HRA p.m.
