The following posts are urgently required to be filled for the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India funded project entitled "Computational Core for Plant Metabolomics" administrated by Prof Indira Ghosh, School of Computational and Integrative Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110 067

NB: For all posts, preference will be given to candidates with a basic knowledge of LINUX, Python and/or R, knowledge of JAVA will also get a special consideration

RA / Research Associate

Salary: Rs. 23000/- + HRA

Vacancy: 1

Essential Qualifications: PhD (preferably in Computational biology or Computer Science) or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after ME/MTech (preferably in Computational biology or Computer Science) with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal. Candidate should have the 3 years of research experience proven by application development for biological systems or relevant area. Advance user knowledge on Python, JAVA, Web-based application development, script writing & database organizing is essential.

Desired Skills: Prior experience in handling and evaluation of software, managing the project portal, preparing and filing reports etc. Will be expected to communicate with user groups and coordinate with LIMS group in Hyderabad and the Cheminformatics group in Delhi.

Project SRF

Salary: Rs.18000/- + HRA

Vacancy: 1

Essential Qualifications: MSc/MS/MTech/ME in Basic Sciences or with at least 2 yrs of research experience in Computational Biology related to mathematical model building using biological data and high throughput data analysis etc.

Desired Skills: Will be expected to manage ongoing research activities in Metabolomics, interact with LIMS group, manage the project portal, prepare and file reports etc. Familiarity with plant systems biology and genomics /metabolite resources related to plant metabolomics is desirable. Published/ Communicated paper or poster in National/Internationals conference is desirable.

Project JRF

Salary: Rs.12000/- + HRA

Vacancy: 1

Essential Qualifications: MSc/MCA/BTech in Mathematics or Computer Science with at least 1 year of research experience in Computational Biology related to systems biology data analysis or mathematical modeling in biology etc. High quality skill in algorithm development, program writing in Python, Java etc. is essential.

Desired Skills: Will be expected to manage ongoing research activities in Metabolomics, interact with LIMS group, manage the project portal, prepare and file reports etc. Familiarity with Chemoinformatics, script writing & database organizing and extracting using searching etc. will be considered favorably while selection for Interview.

Candidates who have qualified NET/BET/BINC will have higher pay scale as per DBT/DST guidelines. For SRF & JRF, those are registered or appearing for PhD registration need not apply. Candidates working in the area of MD simulation or molecular/chemical modeling need not apply.
