SRM-DBT Partnership Platform for Contemporary Research Services and Skill Development in Advanced Life Sciences Technologies

SRM University (Under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956), is one of the top ranking Universities in India and it is internationally known for its excellence in quality education and research in varied fields. SRM University with support from Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India is establishing a state of the art National facility under the project ‘SRM-DBT Partnership Platform for Contemporary Research Services and Skill Development in Advanced Life Sciences Technologies’. SRM University invites applications for the following positions to work in the above mentioned project:

1. Facility Manager – 1 No.

Essential qualification: M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Life Science with a minimum of 3 years work experience in the area of providing service through advanced Life Science techniques dealing with Genomics, proteomics and animal studies. Desirable qualification: M.Sc. or M.Tech. with Ph.D. Salary: 12 Lakhs per annum. Job description: To take care of the day to day functioning of the facility with modern instruments for generating high quality data for genomics, proteomics and animal studies. The established facility will cater to the needs of the researchers and other users in the country. The manager is expected to come out with a business plan to promote commercial venture during the tenure of the project and afterwards.

2. Veterinary Officer – 1 No.

Qualification: B.V.Sc., with one year experience in the maintenance of animal house or similar experience. Salary: 6 Lakhs per annum. Job description: To take care of the day to day maintenance and requirements of the Animal House and provide technical support to the researchers carrying out animal experiments in the animal house.

3. Technician – 4 Nos.

Qualification: M.Sc., (or) M.Tech. in Chemical/Life Science or Biotechnology/Genetic Engineering. Candidates with proven hands on experience in the operation and maintenance of instruments such as, NGS, Capillary sequencer, Real Time PCR, Microarray, MALDI-TOF-MS, LC-MS, Bioplex Multiplex system and other instruments related to life science research with an undergraduate degree in Chemical/Life Science or Biotechnology/Genetic Engineering will also be considered.

Salary: Rs 25,000 + 10% HRA/month Job description: To operate the sophisticated instruments like, NGS, Capillary sequencer, Real Time PCR, Microarray, MALDI-TOF-MS, Bioplex Multiplex system, etc. and maintain them.

4. Junior Research Fellow – 5 Nos.

Qualification: M.Sc. (or) M.Tech. in any branch of life science or Biotechnology/Genetic Engineering. Job description: They will be working on research problems under the guidance of the faculty allotted and will register for their Ph.D. at SRM University. Salary: Rs 25,000 + 10% HRA/month

5. Laboratory Assistants – 4 Nos.

Qualification: B.Sc. in Chemical/Life Science (2); Diploma in Refrigeration/Electrical Engineering (2) with a minimum of 2 years experience in a Chemical/Life Science laboratory, or industry.

Job description: To carry out all the work under the supervision of the faculties.
