The programme is highly selective and invites outstanding university graduates wishing to work towards a Ph.D. in the fields of ageing and age-related diseases to become part of the Cologne Graduate School of Ageing Research and the vibrant and international research scene in the Cologne/Bonn area.

We invite applications from all countries. Our interdisciplinary faculty offers positions in the areas of biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioinformatics, bioengineering and medical biology. Applicants with a Diploma or Master's or equivalent degree of those or related fields are welcome to apply!
We also accept applicants with a degree in medicine provided they have sufficient relevant research experience. Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English.
We choose applicants based on their academic qualifications, their research accomplishments and their motivation to study at our Graduate School. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Selection Workshop on site. During the Selection Workshop in May 2016, candidates will give an oral presentation of their previous scientific work and are interviewed by Principal Investigators. The candidates will have the opportunity to discuss the programme and research interests of the various groups with graduate school students and faculty members. Selected candidates will start their fellowships in October 2016. Candidates are enrolled through the University of Cologne.
