Recruitment for SRF & RA under ICAR Funded Project Applications are invited for filling up the SRF (two) and RA (one) posts under the ICAR funded Scheme “Incentivizing Research in Agriculture”. Walk-in interview for SRF posts alone will be held on 21st January 2016. Desirous candidates should report for interview by 10:00 AM with the application in the prescribed format along with originals and copies of certificates and documents.
For the RA post, eligible candidates may send their detailed bio data to Dr. Pranab Kumar Mandal, Principal Scientists (E-mail: pranabkumarmandal@gmail.com) NRCPB, LBS Centre, Pusa Campus, New Delhi-110012 on or before 21st January 2016. Shortlisted candidate for RA post will be called for interview and intimated the same by email. The positions are temporary and are initially offered for a period of one year or till end of the project duration, whichever is earlier. However, the positions can be terminated with one month notice owing to any change in circumstances.
No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
Project title: Genetic modification to improve biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) Funded by ICAR under “Incentivizing Research in Agriculture” under XII plan (up to 31-3- 2017). PI: Dr. P K Mandal
1. Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
No. of Positions: 2
Emoluments: Rs. 25000 *+ HRA
Qualifications: Essential-
1. First class Master’s degree in any discipline of Plant Sciences with specialization in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Life Sciences/ Agriculture.2. NET qualification and two years research / teaching experience is essential for the candidates with 3+2 years B.Sc.+ M.Sc. Desirable: Research experience in one or more of the following: growing crops in the field/ net house and related data handling; plant transformation; genomics.
Age limit: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women as on the date of interview (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per rules).
2. Research Associate

Emoluments: Rs. 40000 +30% HRA (For Ph. D holder) Rs. 38000 +30% HRA (for Master Degree holder)
Qualifications: Essential- Ph.D. Degree in Bioinformatics/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/ Genetics/allied sciences. OR
1. First class Master’s degree in any discipline of Plant Sciences with specialization in Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Life Sciences/ Agriculture having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average with at least two years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associate ship.
2. NET qualification is essential for the candidates with 3+2 years B.Sc.+ M.Sc.
Desirable: At least three years research experience in Genomics/ NGS data analysis, thorough knowledge of advanced molecular biology techniques and ability to draft manuscript for high impact factor journals. Experience substantiated by publications of high quality will be preferred.
