Advertisement for the position of “Copy Editor” Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc), an institution under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India publishes scholarly scientific journals, thematic books and other publications. The Academy currently publishes 10 journals in various disciplines in science (please visit www.ias.ac.in for more details) and one of them is "Resonance – Journal of Science Education” a monthly journal primarily targetted at students and teachers of science at the undergraduate level.
The Academy is looking for a full-time permanent position of “Copy Editor” for this journal. Applications are invited from resourceful persons with excellent skills in copy editing and rewriting scientific articles and publishing them under tight deadlines. Should have 2-3 years of demonstrable experience in scientific editing and journal publishing
Duties also include coordination and liaison with Chief Editors and other members of Editorial Board and ensure smooth work flow and undertake activities for journal promotion. Familiarity in using DTP packages is desirable.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc/BE/B.Tech from a recognized University. Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 35 years as on 01/12/2015.

Scale of pay and emolument: Pay band 2, Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay 4200/-, gross emolument of Rs. 37100/- per month.
The selected candidate shall undergo a probationary period of 2 years and extendable to such period(s) as may be decided by the competent authority. Candidates already in government service should forward their application thorough proper channel or should submit No Objection Certificate at the time of written test.
The Academy reserves the right to relax the qualification, age and experience in deserving cases. The decision of the selection committee will be final in all matters.
