Applications are invited form Indian citizens for filling up of thirty two (32) posts of Scientists on Direct Recruitment basis in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (proper), Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) and National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) as per details given below:

B. Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change - Scientist – ‘D’ in the Pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.7600/- in Pay Band–3

(ii) Post No. 4 / MoEF - (UR-01)

Essential Educational Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Bio-technology Engineering or Master of Science in Biotechnology from a Recognized University/Institute with 7 years or working experience in the field of Environmental Pollution Control or Environmental Impact Assessment or Management of Hazardous Substances or Management of Bio-diversity or Conservation and Survey. OR

Doctorate in Bio-technology from a Recognized University/Institute with 4 years of working experience in the field of Environmental Pollution Control or Environmental Impact Assessment or Management of Hazardous Substances or Management of Biodiversity or Conservation and Survey.

C. Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change - Scientist – ‘C’ in the Pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.6,600/- in Pay Band–3

(i) Post No. 5/ MoEF- (SC-01)

Essential Educational Qualification Master’s Degree in Botany from a Recognized University/Institute with 03 years working experience in the field of Environmental Pollution Control or Environmental Impact Assessment of Management of Hazardous Substances or Management of Bio-diversity or Conservation and Survey. OR

Doctorate in Botany.

C. Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change - Scientist – ‘C’ in the Pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.6,600/- in Pay Band–3

(i) Post No. 5/ MoEF- (SC-01)

Essential Educational Qualification Master’s Degree in Botany from a Recognized University/Institute with 03 years working experience in the field of Environmental Pollution Control or Environmental Impact Assessment of Management of Hazardous Substances or Management of Bio-diversity or Conservation and Survey. OR

Doctorate in Botany.

D. Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change - Scientist – ‘B’ in the Pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5,400/- in Pay Band–3

(i) Post No. 10/ MoEF- (ST-01) Essential Educational Qualification Master’s Degree in Zoology from a Recognized University/Institute. OR

Doctorate in Zoology.

E. Zoological Survey of India- Scientist – ‘E’ in the Pay scale of Rs.37,400-67,000 with Grade Pay of Rs.8,700/- in Pay Band–4

(i) Post No. 11-12/ ZSI- (Invertebrate) ( UR-02) (ii) Post No. 13/ZSI- (Vertebrate) UR-01)

Essential Educational Qualification 5 Master’s Degree in Zoology or Life Sciences from a Recognized University/Institute with 11 years experience in research in an academic institution or scientific and technological organization after possessing the minimum educational qualification required for the post. OR

Doctorate in Zoology or Life Science from a Recognized University/Institute with 8 years experience in research in an academic institution or scientific and technological organization after possessing the minimum educational qualification required for the post.

Area of Experience

Protozoa/Sponges/Annelida/Helminthes/Mollusca/Arthropoda/Echinodermata/Fishes/ Amphibia/Reptiles/Birds/Mammals with special reference to Systematic, Morphology and Ecology of animals.

F. Zoological Survey of India- Scientist – ‘D’ in the Pay scale of Rs.15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.7600/- in Pay Band–3

(i) Post No. 14-26/ ZSI- (Invertebrate) [ SC-02, ST-01, OBC-03 , PH-01(VH/HH/OH) & UR-06 ]

(ii) Post No. 27-30 ZSI- (Vertebrate) [OBC-01, PH-01 (VH/HH/OH) & UR-02 ]

Essential Educational Qualification Master’s Degree in Zoology or Life Sciences from a Recognized University/Institute with 7 years experience in research in an academic institution or scientific and technological organization after possessing the minimum educational qualification required for the post. OR

Doctorate in Zoology or Life Science from a Recognized University/Institute with 4 years experience in research in an academic institution or scientific and technological organization after possessing the minimum educational qualification required for the post

Area of Experience

Protozoa/Sponges/Annelida/Helminthes/Mollusca/Arthropoda/Echinodermata/Fishes/ Amphibia/Reptiles/Birds/Mammals with special reference to Systematic, Morphology and Ecology of animals.

Duties and Job Requirements

(i) Research in Taxonomy, Morphology, Ecology and Zoo-Geography of animals under his/her charge; (ii) Supervision and co-ordination of work in different scientific sections under the respective Divisions ; (iii) Helping the Director in administration matter.

Place of Posting (for Post No.11-12/ZSI to 27-30/ZSI) ZSI, Kolkata or anywhere in India.

G. National Museum of Natural History- Scientist ‘C’ in the Pay Scale of Rs. 15,600- 39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.6600/- in Pay Band – 3

(i) Post No. 31-32 NMNH - Two [02] posts [UR-02]

Essential Educational Qualifications/ Experience Master’s Degree in Botany or Zoology or Geology or Bio Science or Life Science or Environmental Science and Wildlife Biology and; (i) Diploma or a certificate of completion of course in Museology of a duration of not less than one year or two years’ experience of working in a State/ National Museum, preferably in Natural History Section. (ii)In addition to (i) above, 3 years experience of working in a State or National Museum preferably in Natural History Section.

Desirable Qualifications (i) Experience of field work in natural history collections and their preservation & documentation, (ii) Knowledge and experience in development of thematic exhibitions and programmes, (iii)Knowledge of latest display design and multi-media presentation.

Duties and Job Requirements (i) To assist in curatorial responsibilities related with development and management of Natural History Collections, Exhibition and related education and extension services. (ii)To assist in planning, development and organization of Museum.
