Innovation Cluster (UIC)
For Igniting New market led Ideas
Advertisement for the one position of Post- Doctoral Innovation fellow and three positions of Post-Masters Innovation fellows (purely temporary basis) under Cluster Innovation Centre in Biotechnology (CIC-B) at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The CIC-B is sponsored by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Govt. of India.
Who can apply?
Applicants who have completed their Masters and Ph.D. on and after 1st January 2013 for Post-Masters and Post-Doctoral fellowship respectively.
Support of BIRAC Innovation Fellowship: For position of BIRAC Post-Master Innovation Fellowship candidates registered for Ph.D. may also apply. But under such condition the candidate should have completed his/her course work or about to finish it shortly.
BIRAC Innovation fellowship will start for the main Ph.D. work and will be for two years and extendable for one more year based on the project progress, potential and BIRAC discretion.
The project approved by the selection committee will be taken forward under the BIRAC fellowship and will also serve the Ph.D. thesis.
BIRAC Innovation Fellowship will not be continued for the complete duration of the Ph.D. and candidate should plan his alternate source of funds. BIRAC Innovation
Fellowship for: Post Doc : is Rs 50.00 thousand per month along with BIRAC Innovation Grant of Rs.5.00 Lakhs per year.
Post Masters : is Rs 30.00 thousand per month along with BIRAC Innovation Grant of Rs.2.00 Lakhs per year.

Eligibility: Ph.D. Biotechnology / Microbiology/ Microbial Biotechnology/ Biomedical Engineering / / Life Sciences / Clinical medicines / Bio chemistry / Bio Physics/ Pharmaceutical Sciences & allied disciplines
Post Title: Post Graduate Fellowship
Eligibility: Masters in areas of Biotechnology /Microbiology / Microbial Biotechnology/ Biomedical Engineering Life Sciences / Clinical medicines / Bio chemistry / Bio Physics/ Pharmaceutical Sciences & allied disciplines.
Focus Area – 2: Bioprocess Technology
Post Title: Post Doc Fellowship (1)
Eligibility: Ph.D.in areas of Biotechnology / Microbiology / Microbial Biotechnology/ Life Sciences / Chemistry / Food Technology / Pharmaceutical Sciences & allied disciplines.
Post Title: Post Graduate Fellowship (3)
Eligibility: Masters in areas of Biotechnology/ Microbial Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Life Sciences/ Microbiology / Food Technology/ Pharmaceutical Sciences & allied disciplines. BIRAC Innovation Fellowships:
Post Docs:Rs. 50,000/- per month and BIRAC Innovation Grant of Rs. 5,00,000/- per year
Post Masters:Rs. 30,000/- per month and BIRAC Innovation Grant of Rs. 2,00,000/- per year.
Period of the Fellowship: Grant period is 2 years; extendable by 1 more year depending upon the progress in achieving commercialization
