TAXONOMY, BIODIVERSITY, EX SITU CONSERVATION AND APPLICATIONS OF FUNGI

Venue: MACS’ Agharkar Research Institute, Pune

National facility proposes to conduct National Level Workshop and Motivational Certificate Course for developing competence in systematics and taxonomy (conventional and molecular) of fungi and their applications among new generation of students and researchers across the country. This would help in developing expertise to utilize indigenous mycological heritage on sustained basis. In addition, awareness to conserve and document fungal genetic resources, and various rules and regulations being implemented by national agencies under the aegis of Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) would be created among selected 20 young and budding researchers from academia, research institutions and industries.

Schedule, fee structure and other details are as follows:

I. National Level Workshop – Duration: 10 days (1–10 June 2016)

Workshop fee: Rs 12,500 + service tax @14.5% (participants from academia and research institutions) Rs 16,500 + service tax @14.5% (participants from Industry)

Who can apply: College/University Teachers, Post Doc Researchers, Ph.D. students

Note: Workshop fee include food and workshop kit only. Due to limited availability, accommodation will be arranged on request of the selected candidates. The approximate charges for accommodation would be Rs 750 + service tax @15% per head and per day (twin sharing basis).

II. National Level Certificate Course – Duration: 30 days (1–30 June 2016)

Course fee: Rs 25,000 + service Tax @14.5%

Who can apply: Graduates/Postgraduates in Science/Life Sciences Note: Course fee include laboratory expenses and course materials only.

Due to limited availability, accommodation will be arranged on request of the selected outstation candidates. The approximate charges for accommodation would be Rs 750 + service tax @15% per head and per day (twin sharing basis).

Intimation to selected candidates : 30 April 2016

Receipt of fee from selected candidates : 10 May 2016
