Department of Marine Sciences is looking for prospective candidates for filling up positions of a research scholars and a field assistant under projects funded by INCOIS, Min of Earth Sciences (MOEs) and by Space Physics Laboratory, Indian Space Research Organization, to work under the guidance of Prof. Harilal B. Menon. The positions are purely temporary and on a project mode, initially for a period of one year. Candidates fulfilling the following qualification and conditions may appear for a walk-in-interview scheduled on 30th June 2016 at 1500 hrs in the Dept of Marine Sciences. At the time of interview, candidate need to carry a C.V and all other certificates in original and send a copy of the C.V to the e-mail given below. Details of INCOIS sponsored project: Title: Optical characterization of Case II waters and retrieval of colour components from an optical sensor

1. Fellowship: JRF (1 post) – Rs: 12000 + 20% HRA (likely to be revised)

Qualifications. Master’s degree in Marine Sciences with specialization in Physical Oceanography/Marine Biology/Marine Chemistry, Master’s degree in Physical Oceanography/Hydrochemistry/Marine Biology/Master’s degree in Physics/Biology/Atmospheric science/Meteorology/Master’s degree in Geoinformatics/Environment Science. M-Tech in Geoinformatics.

Preference will be given to candidates with consistent excellent Academic record from SSC onwards and those qualified CSIR-NET examination. Knowledge of programming in FROTRAN/C language is a desirable qualifcation.

Candidates with NET qualification will be paid a monthly fellowship of Rs. 25,000+ HRA Field Assistant.

1. Fellowship : Field Assistant (1 post):

Rs. 8000/-

Bachelor’s degree in Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Biology.

Preference will be given to those having knowledge in Microsoft excel and other computing software. Candidate selected need to participate in field surveys and assist in data generation. Details of ISRO sponsored project: a. Establishing a network station at Goa University for atmospheric boundary layer measurements under the noble project of ISRO – GBP.

Qualifications: Masters degree in Marine Sciences with specialization in Physical Oceanography/ Masters degree in Physical Oceanography/ Master’s degree in Physics/Atmospheric science/Meteorology/Mathematics/Master’s degree in Geoinformatics/ M-Tech in atmospheric science. Consistent excellent academic record from SSC onwards. CSIRNET candidates will be given preference.
