A Walk-in-interview will be held for the appointment of two Project Assistants in the MoES sponsored Research Project titled ‘Benthic-pelagic linking: An approach to delineate economically important macrobenthic population of Sundarbans Estuarine System’ in the Department of Biological Sciences (Erstwhile Zoology section), Presidency University on Thursday, 23rd June, 2016 at 12:00 Noon.

Date of interview: 23rd June, 2016

Place of interview: Department of Biological Sciences (Erstwhile Zoology Section, 3rd Floor, Bakers Building), Presidency University (Erstwhile Presidency College), 86/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073, India.

Time of interview: 12:00 Noon. The candidates are requested to reach the venue by 11.30 am.

Name of the Position: Project Assistant

Number of positions: 2

Duration: Appointment will be for 4 years or till end of the project, and subjected to annual review for further extension that will be granted based on the research progress and accomplishments.

Salary: As per MoES rule

Essential qualification: First class M.Sc. Degree or equivalent in any area of Biological Sciences from recognized university.

Desirable qualification: Applicants having (i) a valid rank in CSIR/UGC­NET JRF Examination and/or at least 1 year research experience in Marine Biology related work will be given preference.

Job requirement: To participate extensively in cruises/ field work at Sundarban Estuarine System, biological sample collection and analysis. To assist the PI in the lab work, data analysis and preparation of reports & scientific papers.

The original certificates and mark sheets are to be presented before the Selection Committee on the day of the interview. Applicants arriving 30 minutes after the schedule time of interview shall not be called for the same. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
