Admissions to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programmes - 2017
NBRC invites applications for admissions to Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programmes.
Candidates applying for the Ph.D. Programme may take any of the following screening examinations;
1. Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS) conducted by NCBS/TIFR.

2. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2016/GATE-2017) for selected subjects only (please see the website www.nbrc.ac.in). For GATE information, see http://www.gate.iitr.ernet.in/
4. External Fellowship Channels: CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the subjects - Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics. For further details, please visit their respective websites.
Candidates applying for M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme will be screened through JGEEBILS only. Candidates selected for M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme at NBRC will have option at the end of second year to switch over to M.Sc.-Ph.D. Integrated programme upon fulfilling the required criteria.
Candidates applying for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programme will be short-listed for a two-tier interview to be held at NBRC based on their performance in the JGEEBILS (Test date : 11th December, 2016) or qualifying GATE-2016/GATE-2017 examinations or JEST-2017 or CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) (valid for activation upto 31st August, 2017 or later), alongwith fulfilling other eligibility criteria for admission to M.Sc. or Ph.D. programme at NBRC.
* GATE/JEST/External Fellowship Channels are valid for Ph.D. programme only.
Admission to M.Sc. (Neuroscience) is restricted to JGEEBILS candidates.
