NIAB is looking for dedicated and committed Scientists who believe in institution building and have a passion for academic excellence and quality research for filling the following positions:

1. Scientist – G No. of positions – 02 (UR)

Any of the following subject Areas –

(i) Quantitative Genetics & Genomics in Livestock/ Animals
(ii) Animal Diseases
(iii) Animal Reproduction

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant area from a recognized University with 10 years of R&D experience after Ph.D with original work as evidenced by patents or publications in top ranked peer-reviewed journals; strong potential for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative extramural funding.

Job Requirements: The selected candidates, in addition to their own research programme, are expected to provide support to research projects at NIAB aimed at

(I) genetic improvement of livestock using modern tools of genomics, creation of transgenic livestock (ii) livestock reproduction/ developmental biology to address reproductive Advertisement No. 3/2016 problems in livestock by employing a combination of traditional and modern biological approaches to create new knowledge and for developing novel diagnostics and therapeutic tools for infertility in livestock (iii) host – pathogen interactions and identification of novel targets for development of diagnostics, leads for vaccines and therapeutic molecules for various diseases of livestock. The selected candidates are also expected to lead the HRD programme of the Institute and teach at PG level. In addition, candidates are expected to attract extra-mural funding to establish and lead research programs. To assist the Director in performing his/her duties.

2. Scientist – F No. of positions – 03 (UR)

Any of the following subject Areas –
(i) Quantitative Genetics & Genomics in Livestock/ Animals
(ii) Animal Diseases
(iii) Animal Reproduction
(iv) Animal Nutrition
(v) Bioinformatics

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant area from a recognized University with 7 years of R&D experience after Ph.D with original work as evidenced by patents or publications in top ranked peer-reviewed journals; strong potential for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative extramural funding.

One position of Research Any of the following subject Area –

(i) Animal Genetics & Genomics
(ii) Bioinformatics
(iii) Animal Reproduction
(iv) Transgenic Technology
(v) Animal Nutrition

Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant area from a recognized University with 3 years of R&D experience after Ph.D with original work as evidenced by patents or publications in top ranked peer-reviewed journals; strong potential for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative extramural funding.

(ii) One position of Veterinarian (Animal House Incharge)

Essential Qualifications: B.V.Sc with 10 years of experience or M.V.Sc (Veterinary Pathology / Microbiology / Virology / Medicine or equivalent qualifications) with 7 years experience in handling experimental animals preferably breeding and maintenance of transgenic animals with publication record and valid registration

Job Requirements: The selected candidate will work as Animal house Incharge and is expected to supervise major experiments, mainly involving anesthesia and surgery in addition to maintenance and breeding of the animals (stock as well as experiments) for all investigators as required by CPCSEA guidelines of Govt of India.

5. Scientist – C/B (1-OBC, 3-UR) No. of positions – 04

Any of the following subject Area –
(i) Animal Genetics & Genomics
(ii) Animal Reproduction
(iii) Transgenic Technology
(iv) Animal Nutrition

Essential Qualifications: (i) For Scientist-C Ph.D. in a relevant area from a recognized University with original work as evidenced by patents or publications in top ranked peer-reviewed journals; strong potential for securing and sustaining independent and collaborative extramural funding.

Job Requirements: The selected candidates are expected to work in the research projects at NIAB aimed at (I) genetic improvement of livestock using modern tools of genomics, creation of transgenic animals and animal based therapeutics (ii) livestock reproduction / developmental biology to address reproductive problems in livestock by employing a combination of traditional and modern biological approaches to create new knowledge and for developing novel diagnostics and therapeutic tools to address infertility in livestock and (iii) animal nutrition, efficient feed utilization etc The selected candidates are also expected to teach at PG level. In addition, candidates are expected to attract external funding to establish and lead research programs

(ii) For Scientist-B M.V.Sc / M.Sc / M.Tech degree from a recognized University with 3 years of experience in a relevant area with publication record. Job Requirements: The selected candidates are expected to work and help in the research projects at NIAB aimed at (I) genetic improvement of livestock using modern tools of genomics, creation of transgenic animals (ii) livestock reproduction / developmental biology to address reproductive problems in livestock by employing a combination of traditional and modern biological approaches. In addition, candidates are expected to help other scientists for basic research. The candidates who had applied earlier, against Advertisement No. 1/2015, will be considered according to the terms and conditions of that advertisement, hence, need not apply again. However, they may update their CV (with previous application reference number) by sending their documents related to their additional qualification /publication and experience acquired, if any.
