The Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) is a premier Centre of Excellence under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of Ornithology and Natural History. SACON wishes to engage a LABORATORY ASSISTANT and a PROGRAMME FELLOW on contract. (a) LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Emoluments Rs. 14,000/· (Consolidated) per month
Essential Qualification Minimum Second class Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry/ Chemistry from a recognized University
Desirable Qualification One year experience in similar post
Prescribed Age Limit Shall not exceed 28 years, Relaxable as per Govt. rules
Description of Work To maintain stock register, to maintain laboratory with clean working environment, to ensure smooth functioning of laboratory, ensure availability of consumables etc., maintenance of files and records and help research scholars in conducting experiments and running of instruments

Emoluments Rs. 18,000/· (Consolidated) per month + HRA as admissible
Essential Qualification M.Sc., in any branch of Iife/environmental sciences with training in fundamentals of bio-diversity conservation/wild life biology
Desirable Qualification Knowledge of database applications, Experience in working with bio-diversity databases, Familiarity with research on Indian bird and ornithology and good skill in science communication in English
Prescribed Age Limit Shall not exceed 30 years, Relaxable as per Govt. rules
Description of Work To maintain the To assist the Coordinator, to collect, organize, curate and publish data on Indian ornithology, to update and maintain ornithological data-portal to constantly improve the interface between data resources and user community, to maintain NOD Cell as the single-window clearing house for all queries and searches for information on any aspects of India
ornithology, to prepare and publish periodical reports on the status and progress of the NOD Cell and other proposed technical serials and to develop proposals to expand the activities of NOD Cell.
