Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in-interview on 28th & 29th November, 2016 for the temporary positions of Research Associates (RA)/Senior Research Fellows (SRF)/Junior Research Fellows (JRF)/Technical Assistant (TA)/Office Assistant (OA) along with their original certificates of educational qualifications etc., to work under the ad-hoc research projects at Indian Institute of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. 1. DBT Project “Rice bio fortification “ with enhanced iron and Zinc... – phase II”. Duration: 31st march 2017
Junior Research Fellow (1 position)
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. or M.Sc. (Ag) with specialization in Plant Breeding/ Genetics/ Biotechnology /Plant Molecular biology/Plant Sciences/Life Sciences/Botany with NET Qualification.
2. “DBT India – IRRI Network project entitled “Marker assisted introgression of different traits to develop new generation rice varieties”. Duration: 1 year & further extendable.
Technical Assistant (1 position)
Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. Life Sciences/ B.Sc. Agriculture. Desirable Qualifications: B.Sc. Life Sciences/ B.Sc. Agriculture.
3. “DBT Funded project “Newton – Bhaba Virtual centre on Nitrogen Efficiency of whole – cropping systems for improved performance and resilience in agriculture (NEWS India – UK)” under DBT – BBSRC, UK”. Duration: 1 year & further extendable.
1. Junior Research Fellow (2 positions) :
Essential Qualifications:
JRF (1): M.Sc (Ag)/M.Sc in Agronomy /Soil Science / Plant Physiology with NET qualification. Experience in Plant and Soil Analysis and field data collection.
JRF(2): M.Sc. or M.Sc. (Ag) degree Science with specialization in plant Breeding / Genetics/ Biotechnology /plant Molecular Biology /Plant sciences/ Life sciences /Botany. with NET Qualification. Experience of rice breeding /molecular markers of rice will be preferred.
2. Technical Assistant (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: B.Sc (Ag)/B.Sc (Life Sciences) or equivalent degree with experience in field and laboratory work.
Desirable: knowledge in computer operation. Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge in computer operation.
5. “ICAR Plan scheme-Project-III (Biological Nitrogen Fixation) entitled "Genetic modifications to improve biological nitrogen fixation for augmenting nitrogen need cereals”. Duration: 31st march 2016 or till the project ends
(i). Research Associate (RA) (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in the relevant subject (viz., Agricultural Biotechnology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Plant Sciences/Microbiology/ Botany/Genetics or any other related discipline in Life Sciences).
Desirable Qualifications: Master's degree in the relevant subject (viz., Agricultural Biotechnology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Plant Sciences/Microbiology/ Botany/Genetics or any other related discipline in Life Sciences) with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor's degree having 1st division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average, with at least three years of research experience as evidenced from Fellowship/ Associate ship! Training/ other engagements as circulated vide F.No. 2-9/2012-HRD dated 25.04.2014. In addition, the candidate should have at least one research paper/publication in science citation indexed (SCI) journal (Published research papers (3 Nos. minimum, each with NAAS rating > 6.0). With NET qualification .Experience in working in rice research group for at-least two years. Including experience in microbial biotechnology/ rice biotechnology, rice genomics/ rice bioinformatics).
6. “ICAR Plan scheme network project entitled “Incentivizing Research in Agriculture” Project IV: Molecular genetic analysis of resistance/tolerance to different stresses”. Duration: 31st march 2016 or till the project ends
Technical Help/Skilled Help (1 positions)
Essential Qualifications: Graduate degree in science (6-12 months research experience in Plant pathology/Plant breeding/ plant genetics/plant molecular biology/handling of field and glasshouse trials).
7. “Evaluation of Iron Coated seed for Direct Seeded Rice(DSR)”. Duration: Till the project completed
1.Technical Help/ Skilled Help (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: B.Sc Life sciences from any recognized university in the country
1) A minimum of 2 years experience in field data collection especially in rice.
2) Experience in lab work. 3) Good knowledge in MS Office.
2. Office Assistant (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: B.Sc. /B.Sc. computers from any recognized university in the country
1) Proficiency in computer knowledge, typing ability, related skills and familiarity with MS Office, data computation.
2) Minimum of one year experience in office work.
9. “Evaluating the effect of Sea6 – Bio stimulant on the grain yield of rice under puddle condition”.
Technical Assistant (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: B. Sc Life sciences from any recognized university in the country
1) A minimum of 2 years experience in field data collection especially in rice.
2) Experience in lab work.
3) Good knowledge in MS Office.
10. “Strategy for Sustainable Crop Production in Direct Seeded Rice in India (IIRR – BASF network project)”. Duration: 1 year and further extendable
Project Assistant (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc Life sciences/ Graduation in Biology with Diploma in Agriculture from any recognized university in the country
1) A minimum of 3 years experience in field data collection especially in rice and lab experience.
2) Proficiency in computer knowledge, related skills and familiarity with MS Office, Data analysis & Report writing. With NET Qualification
11. Evaluation of new herbicide (Dow Agro). Duration: six months likely to be extended
Technical Assistant (1 position)
Essential Qualifications: Degree with Biology/Degree with Diploma in Agriculture
1) A minimum of 1 year experience in field data collection especially in rice and lab experience.
(2) Proficiency in computer knowledge.
12. “Development of Agronomic package for DRT varieties (EC-IFAD of STRASA)” Duration: six months likely to be extended
(i). Project Assistant (1 positions):
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. Ag (agronomy)/M.Sc. Biology
1) A minimum of 1 year experience in field data collection especially in rice and lab experience.
2) Proficiency in computer knowledge, related skills and familiarity with MS Office, Data analysis & Report writing. With NET Qualification
13. “Evaluation of Polymer Coated Urea in Irrigated Rice”.
(i) Junior Research Fellow (1 position):
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. (Ag) Soil Science/Life Sciences.
Desirable qualification : Experience in soil and plant analysis and field work with NET Qualification.
14. “CSIR – PLOMICS – Enhancing scope of marker assisted selection in rice”.
Senior Research Fellow (2 positions):
Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Genetics / Biotechnology/ Plant Breeding /Biochemistry/Plant Sciences/Life Science with specialization in molecular biology with first division. With NET Qualification.
Two years research experience in Rice Pathology / Rice genetics /Rice Breeding /Rice molecular biology/Rice Marker –assisted selection.
2. Technical Help (2 positions):
Essential Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Biological sciences from recognized university Work experience in field crops especially in rice.
