IISc-CIDR Infosys Fellowships in the Area of Infectious Diseases

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR) houses a BSL-3 facility and focuses its research in the area of pathogen biology. With the support from the Infosys Foundation to the Indian Institute of Science, the Centre wishes to recruit a highly talented and skilled fellow who would carry out independent research to support the mandate of the Centre.

Applications are solicited from Indian nationals (preferably under the age of 35 years) to work in the area of infectious diseases caused by viruses, bacteria or other pathogens. The applicant should have performed exceedingly well during his/her Ph.D./M.B.B.S. and post-doctoral studies (as judged from the high quality publications).

The selected Infosys fellow will receive a consolidated monthly salary in the range of ~Rs 52,000– 85,000 per month (based on the prior experience). CIDR will support the fellow’s research activities in terms of laboratory space, available equipments and reasonable consumable funds. Selected candidates would be strongly encouraged to apply for competitive research funding from the external agencies to augment resources provided by the Centre. The progress of the fellow will be reviewed after one year, and the fellowship extended for another 3 years based on satisfactory performance. Thus, the tenure for the fellowship will be from January 2017 to December 2020.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed during December 2016–January 2017 and the selected fellow will need to join by January–February 2017.
