Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Advanced Studies (JNIAS) has been established by Dr. D. Swaminadhan Research Foundation (DSRF), Hyderabad as an Institute of Excellence in advanced studies and research. JNIAS has been recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC act, 1956 and by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) and (JNTUA) Anantapur as an Advanced Research Institute for offering Ph.D, M.Phil, and P.G programmes in certain areas of Sciences and Engineering & Technology.
JNIAS has established various schools of study with the challenge of imparting good quality theoretical and practical education and aims to achieve high standards of education in emerging areas of science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences. The schools of JNIAS undertake Research and development work in various frontline areas and provide a platform to students for pursuing academic excellence in the different fields of study.
JNIAS offers academic projects and training in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics / Microbiology/ Environmental Sciences / Computer Science for Final Year M.Sc /M.Tech
/B.Tech students. The areas in which JNIAS offers projects includes Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Waste Water Treatment Technologies, Synthesis of Nano Particles, Climate Change and Vulnerability, Data Mining and Web Mining, Operating Systems, Distributed Operating System etc.
The Center for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (CBB), JNIAS offers wide range of projects in the following areas:
• Projects in Molecular Biology
Ex: Genetic Analysis
• Projects in Biochemistry
Ex: Enzymology
• Projects in Nanotechnology
Ex: Green synthesis of Nanoparticles
• Projects in Microbiology
Ex: Microbiological Tests
• Projects in Bioinformatics
Ex: In silico studies & Drug Designing Ex: Phylogenetic analysis of proteins Ex: Homology modeling of proteins
Facilities at JNIAS:
Students will be provided with internet facility for literature search and Guidance in thesis writing and presentation
Certificates are issued after the successful completion of the project.
The outstanding project works will be encouraged for publications on the interest of the students.

Tuition Fees: Interested students need to pay the following tuition fees for:
1. Six Month’s Project: Rs. 20,000/-
2. Four Month’s Project: Rs. 15,000/-
3. Three Month’s Project: Rs. 12,000/-
4. One Month hands on Training: Rs. 8,000/-
