ABOUT US

We humans are mostly microbes, over 100 trillion of them. The number of genes in all the microbes in one person’s microbiome is 200 times the number of genes in the human genome. The microbiome help digest our food, regulate our immune system, protect against other bacteria that cause disease, and produce vitamins. Hence, human microbiome is a fundamental component of human physiology, essential for development, immunity and nutrition. Diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular dystrophy, are associated with dysfunction in the microbiome. Scientists around the world are studying therapies that manipulate the microbiome, including probiotics, prebiotics, antibiotics and transplants of microbes from healthy people.

The central purpose of this Microbiome Conference 2017 is to integrate researchers conducting microbiome research in environmental and biomedical arenas across a broad cross-section of sub-disciplines with common scientific objectives. Essentially, this would provide an extensive mind-sharing, learning and networking platform, thus encouraging Post-graduate students, Ph.D scholars, Scientists, Clinicians and Professionals from various interdisciplinary fields to participate and present their research work and brainstorm with stalwarts in the subject.

TOPICS COVERED

· Perspectives of Environment and Biodiversity in India
