Applications are invited for the following posts upto 20.02.2017 at Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry: I.
(1) Technical Assistant (Zoology) – 3 posts (UR-1; OBC-1; ST-1)
Essential : (i) Three years Bachelor Degree in Zoology from a recognized University (ii) One year Certificate / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or one year experience in the laboratory/field in the lower scale in Govt. Department/Institution.
Nature of duties : To provide assistance and technical support in research activities, in the laboratory/field works related to surveillance and control of vectors & vector borne diseases and any other related work assigned.
(2) Technical Assistant (Microbiology) – 1 post (UR)
Essential : (i) Three years Bachelor Degree in Microbiology from a recognized University (ii) One year Certificate / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or one year experience in microbiology/molecular biology/ bio-chemistry/toxicology/biotechnology in the lower scale in Govt. Department/Institution.
Nature of duties : To provide assistance & technical support to research activities related to development of control/diagnostic tools for surveillance and control of vectors and vector borne diseases, collection and analysis of data involving field survey, sample collection, molecular, biological/ microbiological/immunological/ biotechnological techniques. To provide assistance in the training programmes.
II. Technician ‘C’ – 4 posts (UR-3, ST-1)
Essential : 12th pass with biological science subject or equivalent from a recognized board with one year Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT)/Sanitation/Public Health Science from Govt. recognized Organizations/ Institutes/Medical Colleges, and one year experience in Medical Laboratory Technology/Public Health/Sanitation in a recognized Institute OR 12th pass with biological science subject with two years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT)/ Sanitation/Public Health Science
Nature of duties : Field works related to entomological and parasitological surveys including collection of blood samples, laboratory works related to vector identification, bioassay, biochemical assay, ELISA, PCR assay, dissection, staining, microscopy etc., and any other work as assigned by the superiors
