One day Symposium: March 06, 2017

ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM:

Quantitative proteomics is a powerful approach used for both discovery and targeted proteomic analyses to understand global proteomic dynamics in a cell, tissue or organism. Advances in Quantitative Proteomics have made it more useful in terms of their application in various areas of clinical and biological research. This Symposium focuses on the applications of Quantitative proteomics to different aspects of life sciences. Several eminent invited speakers from different fields will present their research work and share their knowledge and experiences.

TOPICS:

  • Technical Advances in Quantitative proteomics
  • Applications of Quantitative proteomics in Life sciences

INVITED SPEAKERS:

  • Arun Bandopadhyay, CSIR-IICB, Kolkata
  • Kiran Ambatipudi, IIT, Roorkee
  • M. M. Parida, DRDE, Gwalior
  • Mahesh J. Kulkarni, CSIR-NCL, Pune

Four days Workshop: March 07-10, 2017

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

The workshop is being organized in Central Proteomics Facility at Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar. This 4-day long intensive workshop will introduce, demonstrate and provide theoretical understanding of Quantitative proteomics and their applications in clinical and biological research. This workshop will be more focused on gel based 2D-DIGE and non-gel based iTRAQ approach. Participants will get hands-on training for sample preparation and mass spectrometry-derived proteomic data analysis.

THEME AND CONTENT :

  • Introduction to quantitative proteomics
  • Basics of mass spectrometry
  • Workflow of a typical quantitative proteomics study (DIGE & iTRAQ)
  • Difference Gel Electrophoresis (2D-DIGE)- Sample prep, 2D image analysis software
  • Protein identification and quantification by Mass Spectrometry (iTRAQ)
  • 5800 MALDI TOF/TOF – A working model of high resolution mass spectrometer
  • Tandem mass spectrometry data analysis

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This workshop is aimed to provide training to research scholars, post-docs and young faculties working in the field of proteomics.
