Admission to the CBMR Ph.D. Program 2017

Applications are invited for the Ph.D. program at the Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR), Lucknow in the area of Chemical sciences, Biological sciences, Physical sciences and in interdisciplinary research areas. Prospective candidates with background in biology/chemistry/biochemistry/physics/cognitive/neural science are encouraged to apply for the current academic session.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants should have 55 % marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Sc / equivalent degree and should have qualified any ONE of the following national examination;

CSIR or UGC-NET for JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF or DST-INSPIRE fellowship for Ph.D.

Thrust Areas:

CBMR aims to accelerate scientific discoveries by engaging basic science researchers to seek for critical problems relevant to biomedical research. CBMR currently has three major disciplines;

(a) Molecular Synthesis and Drug Discovery covering thrust areas like Total Synthesis of Potential Drug Molecules, Asymmetric Synthesis & Catalysis, Organo-catalysis, Chemical Biology, Organometallic Catalysis.

(b)  Cancer Biology

(c) NMR and Metabolomics with thrust areas NMR methodology, structural biology and functional proteomics

(d)  Functional MRI for brain research

Research Facilities:

CBMR offers state-of-the-art research facilities and infrastructure to perform cutting-edge research. The infrastructure includes modern research laboratories for chemistry and biology research. The major equipments in central instrumentation facility includes three NMR spectrometers (400/600/800 MHz, BRUKER), 3 T MRI Scanner, Glove box (MBRAUN), Agilent HPLC (analytical/preparative), Agilent HR-MS, Agilent GC-MS, Solvent Purification system, FPLC and many more.

CBMR also offers comfortable housing with mess facility for the selected candidates and the students can avail the sports facilities at the SGPGIMS campus.
