NCTB Genomics RA/Project Openings

NATIONAL CANCER TISSUE BIOBANK (NCTB) 
(A joint initiative between Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai) 

Applications are invited for the following positions at the National Cancer Tissue Biobank at the Department of Biotechnology, IIT Madras - 

1) Research Associate 

Qualification : Master’s / Ph.D. in Computer Science / Genomics / Computation Biology / Bioinformatics. 

Requirements : Good knowledge of programming languages for data analysis and tool development such as Perl, Python, R, Java, SQL, C++, etc. with sufficient knowledge in basics of genomics and molecular biology. 

2) Project Associate 

Qualification : M.Sc. / M.S. / M.Tech. in any branch of Life Science/ Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology. 

Requirements : Previous experience in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and Genome/Big Data Analysis is desirable, but not mandatory. 

3) Project Assistant (Category – I) 

Qualification : B.Sc. in any branch of Life Science/ Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology. Requirements : Previous experience in Molecular Biology/Cell Biology/Biochemistry 

4) Project Assistant (Category – II) 

Qualification : B.Sc. in any branch of Life Science (and / or) DMLT / PGDMLT. Requirements : Previous hands-on experience in handling and processing of (human) biological samples is desirable, but not mandatory. 

The Project Co-ordinator has the discretion to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications that are higher than the minimum prescribed in the announcement. All positions are purely temporary and may be extended based on performance.
