WALK–IN–INTERVIEW for engaging Project Associate & Project Fellow
on Contract
The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for Walk-in-interview for
engaging Project Associate (1) & Project Fellow (1) for Project entitled “Conservation
management of elephants in Chhattishgarh: capacity building initiative on the
dispersal and ranging patterns of elephants for effective management of humanelephant
interactions” purely on contractual basis for a period of one year. The EQ,
DQ and other details of these positions are provided below :
Project Associate (One position)

Work Description The job involves extensive field work including radio
tracking of collared elephants, Liaoning with officials of
Chhattishgarh Forest Department, training frontline
staff on elephant ecology, behaviour and radio
tracking, generate scientific information for the project,
data analysis and report writing.
Essential
Qualification
(EQ)
Minimum of 60% marks in M.Sc. in Wildlife Science,
Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Life Science
and other biological sciences with minimum of three
years research experience in the field of wildlife
conservation.
Desirable
Qualification
(DQ)
Preference will be given to candidate with prior
experience of working on elephants, publications on
the subject, ability to work under harsh field conditions.
4 Emoluments Rs. 45,200/- plus admissible allowances
Age Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview.
Duration One year
Project Fellow (One position)
Work Description The Project Fellow will assist the Project Associate in
field data collection and in conducting capacity building
program for front line staff of Chhattishgarh Forest
Department.
Essential Qualification
(EQ)
Minimum of 60% marks in M.Sc. in Wildlife Science,
Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Life Science
and other biological sciences.
Desirable
Qualification
(DQ)
Preference will be given to candidates willing to carry
out rigorous field work under harsh conditions.
Prior
experience of working in any other research project will
be an added advantage.
Emoluments Rs. 32,000/- plus admissible allowances
Age Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview.
Duration One year
General Conditions
1. The candidate should report by 0930 hrs for scrutiny of documents on 22 May,
2017 followed by an Interview on the same day at 1100 hrs. The Institute will not
provide accommodation and TA/DA for candidates appearing for the interview.
2. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in application with attested true copies of
testimonials of educational qualifications research experience, along with
certificate of extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all
examinations etc. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the
time of registration for necessary verification.
