Applications are invited from deserving and suitable candidates for the post of Project Technical
Assistant for IBSD, Sikkim Centre, Gangtok on contractual basis for the project entitled
“Establishment of Culture Collection Centre in North East Region of India” under Department of
Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India.

Minimum
Essential
Qualification
First Class M.Sc. in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Life Science or related area to
carry out research on isolation and characterization industrially important
microorganisms.
Desirable Research Experience in microbial isolation, microbial diversity analysis, microbial
preservation and characterization.
Upper Age Limit – 28 years (relaxable as per GOI norms).
Tenure of the project: Three years or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier.
Fellowship/Consolidated pay shall be 12,000.00 pm + 10% HRA
The appointment is purely on temporary contractual basis and co-terminus with the project. The
selected candidate will have no claim for regular employment either in IBSD, Imphal/IBSD, Sikkim or
DBT. Candidates should produce all the original certificates/testimonials at the time of Interview. No
T.A./D.A. shall be paid for appearing the interview. Application with all supporting documents should

Centre, Tadong - 737102, Sikkim within 21 days from date of advertisement.
