Inviting applications for Project Position Date - 15/05/2017 

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions in the following projects/schemes (i) One Junior Research Fellow in the DBT Project entitled “Identification of genes contributing resistance to Alternaria brassicae from a nonhost plant and their characterization in Arabidopsis for durable crop protection against blight disease in Brassica rapa”, (ii) One Senior Research Fellow in the DBT- IYBA project entitled “Drought and wilt disease causing pathogen interaction in tomato plants: dissecting molecular responses using VIGS”, and (iii) one Research Assoscaite in the NIPGR Short Term Research Fellow Scheme under the supervision of Dr. Senthil Kumar Muthappa, Scientist, NIPGR.

(A)  Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidate having M.Sc./M.Tech degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with at least 60% marks or equivalent in master degree are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plant-pathogen interaction studies is preferred.

(B)  Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project. 

Qualification: Candidate having M.Sc./M.Tech degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with at least 60% marks or equivalent in master degree and minimum of two years of post M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plant-pathogen interaction studies are encouraged to apply. Experience in studies on Ralstonia interaction with tomatoplants under moisture stress is preferred.

(C)  Research Associate (one posts): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.

Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in Life Sciences (including Plant Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics)with strong publication record are eligible to apply. Candidate haing prior post-doctoral work experience in development of database and development of crop simulation models for understanding combined stress tolerance are encouraged to apply.

The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
