ICGEB Fermentation/Flux Analysis RA Openings

Applications are invited for positions of Research Associates in the DBT-ICGEB Centre for Advanced Bioenergy Research in the lab of Dr. Shireesh Srivastava. The positions are available initially for one year with annual extensions up to five years based on performance and achieving objectives. Please note that these are temporary project positions whose duration is only for the tenure of the DBT-funded project

The salary will be as per DBT norms, based on qualification and experience. Closing date for applications: 21st July 2017 

RA positions: 

Minimum qualification- 

PhD Position 1. Flux analysis 

Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting 13C-Metabolic Flux Analysis in bacteria, yeast and cyanobacteria. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. in engineering, biotechnology, life sciences or other relevant field. Candidates must have experience in handling microorganisms and Working knowledge of Matlab and R. Preference will be given to those with working experience of Flux analysis, metabolic labeling studies and mass spectrometry. 

Position 2. Fermentation specialist 

Job description: The selected candidate will be conducting experiments to improve C5 fermentation and ethanol productivity of E. coli and yeasts. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. in biotechnology, life sciences or other relevant field. Candidates must possess experience in fermentation and using fermenters. 

Candidates with Omics experience and C5 fermentation experience will be preferred.
