AU Silchar Carcinogenesis JRF/Studentships Walk INs 2017 August

Applicants are invited to appear in a walk-in-interview for two (2) posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and two (2) Studentships in the DBT funded research project entitled “Investigations into the potential of activating the AMP-activated kinase (AMPK) for amelioration of betel-nut induced carcinogenesis”. 

Duration: (i) The position of JRF is for a period of two (2) years. May be extended to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for the third year. (ii) The Studentship is for six (6) months. 

Essential Qualifications: 

(i) For post of JRF, candidate should have Master Degree in Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Life Sciences from a recognized University/Institute with at least 60% marks. Relaxation will be given to SC/ST/OBC/Minorities as per Govt. rules. NET/GATE qualified candidates and those with demonstrated experience relevant to the project will be preferred. 
(ii) For Studentship, candidate should be pursuing M.Sc. in Biotechnology. 

Fellowship
(i) Rs 25000/- + 10% HRA for the first two years as JRF and Rs 28000/- + 10% HRA for the 3rd year as SRF for NET/GATE qualified candidates OR Rs 12000/- + 10% HRA for the first two years as JRF and Rs 14000/- + 10% HRA for the 3rd year as SRF for candidates without NET/GATE.
(ii) For Studentship, the candidate will receive a stipend of Rs 5000/- per month only. 

Date and time of interview: 2:00 PM on the 11th of September, 2017 at the Department of Biotechnology, Assam University, Silchar The position of JRF is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The Studentship is purely temporary and for a period of 6 months only. 

Note: (i) No TA/DA will be paid for their appearing in the interview. (ii) Candidates are requested to appear for the interview with original certificates, mark sheets and other relevant documents including one complete copy of bio-data.
