Eligible candidates may appear in Walk-in-interview for the positions of RA/ JRF/ Young Professional-II/ Contractual in the DBT funded projects as follows

DBT-CoEIB Project “Integration of plant and parasite omics to decipher the interactions and identify molecular targets for the management of root- knot disease of rice” PI: Dr. Uma Rao 

RA (01 position) 

Rs.36000/‐ + 30% HRA 

16 th September 2017 

Essential: Ph.D. Nematology / Plant Pathology / Entomology / Biotechnology Or M.Sc. Agriculture (Nematology/ Entomology/Plant Pathology)/ M.Sc. (Biotechnology)/ M. Tech. (Biotechnology) with 4 or 5 years Bachelor’s degree with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average AND 3-5 years’ research experience. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent AND 3-5 years’ research experience. 

Desirable: Experience in application of molecular techniques in Nematology as evidenced by at least 3-5 research papers in peer reviewed journals. 

JRF (Nematology) (02 positions) 

Rs.25000/‐+ 30% HRA*

Essential: M.Sc. in Nematology/ Entomology/ Zoology (with Entomology/Nematology) /Biotechnology/ Life Sciences or M. Tech. (Biotechnology) with 4 or 5 years Bachelor’s degree with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average in Bachelors and Masters degrees. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent or Ph.D. in any of above disciplines as per ICAR memorandum F.No.Agri.Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F.No. Agri.Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 09.10.2015) 

Desirable: Research experience in plant nematology, rice root knot nematodes and basic molecular biology techniques 

JRF (Genetics and Plant Breeding) (02 positions) 

Rs.25000/‐+ 30% HRA*

Essential: Master’s degree in Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Biotechnology/ Life Science with 4 or 5 years Bachelor’s degree with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average in Bachelors and Masters degrees. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent or Ph.D. in any of above disciplines (As per ICAR memorandum F.No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F.No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 09.10.2015) 

Desirable: Experience in handling rice crop, mapping populations, molecular markers 

Young Professional- II (02 positions)

Essential: Master's Degree in Plant Pathology, Nematology, Entomology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics or Botany. 

Desirable : At least two years of research experience in nematology or any of above mentioned discipline with experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics or biotechnology 

Contractual (02 positions) 

Rs 12,000/- (consolidated )

12th Pass with a minimum 3 years of experience in field work of growing various crop and vegetables, plant and nematode associated work.
