Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a
purely time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Life Science of the
Institute.

“Identification, cloning, expression, purification and
characterization of DNA demethylase enzyme activity:
Investigation of the mechanism of demethylation of cytosine-5-
carbon methylated-DNA keeping the DNA strand intact”.”

4. Tenure of the Project : 03 years
5. Tenure of the Assignment : 03 years (based on the performance) OR completion of the project,
whichever is earlier
6. Job Description : To carry out research work & experiments related to the project and
to continue Ph.D. at NIT Rourkela on related topics of this project
work.
7. Consolidated monthly
compensation / Fellowship
: Rs. 25,000/- P.M. for 1st and 2nd year; Rs. 28,000/- P.M. for 3rd year
+ house rent as admissible by the Institute.
8. Essential Qualifications and
experience
: M.Sc./M. Tech. in Life Science/Biochemistry/ Molecular
Biology/Organic Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Genetics/
MVSc/MBBS or related subjects with above 65% of marks or 7.00
CGPA
9. Desirable Qualifications/
Experiences
:
Knowledge on Cell culture and Gene cloning will be preferred.

Accommodation
: Bachelor accommodation in the hostel will be provided and
Campus accommodation may be provided to married students
subject to availability.
(Campus stay is compulsory)
