Candidates who possess qualifications mentioned below may attend the WALK-IN-INTERVIEW/WRITTEN
TEST for one post of SCIENTIST-C (NON-MEDICAL) (UNRESERVED) on 06.09.2017 at 10.00 a.m at Vector
Control Research Centre, Medical Complex, Indira Nagar, Puducherry-605 006 with all the original
certificates, including Community Certificate to work under the project entitled “Adaptation, validation
and application of LYMFASIM model to predict the risk of resurgence following stopping MDA based on
transmission assessment survey” with assistance/collaboration from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USA.
The appointment to the project post will be purely on temporary basis and the appointment will be initially
for a period of six months and likely to be extended subject to performance and availability of funds.
a. Essential qualification
First class Master’s degree in Statistics/ Biostatistics from a
recognized university with four years R&D/teaching experience in
the above subjects after 1st Class Master’s Degree.
OR
Second Class Master’s degree + PhD degree in Statistics/
Biostatistics from a recognized university with four years
R&D/teaching experience in the above subjects after
Master’s degree + Ph.D.
b. Nature of duties Designing and development of computer based simulation model for vector-borne diseases; compilation, collation and analysis of published data from different parts of the country for model quantification and validation using statistical software such as R, SPSS and STATA.
c. Age Not exceeding 40 years on the date of Walk-in-Interview/Written Test.
d. Consolidated salary Rs.51,000/- + HRA Rs.4440/- per month
