The Institute is looking for a dynamic, result oriented, and forward looking candidate as
Project Manager for one of its trans-boundary landscape conservation and development
initiative - the Kangchenjunga Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative
(KLCDI). The position is short term, temporary and purely project based. Details about the
position, qualification and job description are given below. Desirous candidates may attend
the Walk-In-Interview at Institute HQs (Kosi-Katarmal, Almora) on 18th September,
2017 (11:00 A.M. onwards).

interview on date of Walk-In-Interview (in such cases an eMail request should be sent to
Administrative Officer of the Institute at ao@gbpihed.nic.in by or before September 15,
2017, along with an application, CV and copies of relevant testimonials, etc.). Based on
this request only the candidates will be informed about the time of interview.
The candidates attending Walk-In-Interview are required to submit their CV and other
testimonials along with an application at the time of Interview or before (through
post/eMail to ao@gbpihed.nic.in). No TA/DA will be admissible to candidates attending the
interview.
The Project: Kangchenjunga Landscape Conservation and Development
Initiative (KLCDI) is a transboundary landscape conservation and development
initiative of Bhutan, India and Nepal. This is being facilitated by International Centre of
Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). In Indian part of Kangchenjunga Landscape,
which spreads in State of Sikkim and northern part of west Bengal (district Darjeeling and
Jalpaiguri withAlipurduar), the Institute (i.e., GBPNIHESD) acts as the coordinating
organization and its Sikkim Unit, Pangthang (Gangtok) coordinates implementation of
project activities.

Essential:
(i) First Class Masters degree in
Life Sciences (including
agricultural sciences)/Earth
Science/Environmental
Science/Social Science.
(ii) At least 3 years working experience as
senior/coordinating/managing
personnel (i.e., area
coordinator/ site manager/
investigator or equivalent senior
position) in multi-national
international projects.
Desirable:
Doctoral Degree in
relevant subject
Knowledge of statistical
analysis of data-sets and
proven records of scientific
documentation (i.e.,
scientific papers in peer
reviewed journals;
published books/booklets;
project reports, etc).
Good communication
skills; and computer
knowledge.
Job description
Manage the effective
implementation of activities of
KLCDI as per the agreed
operational plan; liaison with
partner Institutions for
monitoring of progress of LoA
activities; analysis and
synthesis of field data/information; report
preparation and ensuring
timely submission to the
funding agency.
