RCB Research Training Program 2018 January for MSc/MTech in Biotechnology


Research Training Programme for post graduate students in Biotechnology 

Applications are invited for the six months research training programme from students of 4-year Graduate Degrees / Post Graduate Degrees in Sciences from Universities/ Institutions/ Colleges of repute to carry out their project work towards partial fulfilment of their degrees commencing from January 2018 (January-June 2018). 

There are total of 9 vacancies in RCB for the training in the following labs. 

1. Laboratory of Plant-Microbe Interactions (Dr. DivyaChandran) 
2. Transcription Regulation Laboratory (Dr. Deepti Jain) 
3. Laboratory of Structural Microbiology (Dr. Vengadesan Krishnan) 
4. CXL-MS-Nano-Bio Lab (Prof. S. V. Eswaran) 
5. Signal Transduction and Plant Resistance Lab (Dr. SaikatBhattacharjee) 
6. Laboratory of Neurobiology and Genetics (Dr. Pinky K Sharma) 

The terms and conditions would be as given below: 

1. Therequest should be forwarded through Heads of Departments/ Colleges/ Institutions where the student is presently studying. (The letters may be addressed to the Registrar) 
2. The candidates must have passed all examinations starting from secondary school examination in first division or equivalent grade (at least 60% of marks). 
3. Hostel accommodation may be provided to the student on a chargeable basis, depending on availability. 
4. They will not be entitled to any remuneration, stipend or fellowship/ assistance in any form during the project period. 
5. They will abide by the conduct & rules applicable to the scholars/ employees of the RCB. 

Applications should include curriculum vitae, request letter forwarded by HOD and names of three labs in order of preference where the candidate would like to be trained.Applications should reach “Office of the Registrar, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, NCR Biotech Science Cluster, 3rd Milestone, Faridabad- Gurgaon Expressway, Faridabad- 121001” (email: registrar@rcb.res.in) by 30thSep, 2017. Selection will be based on merit, experience and suitability of the candidates to the ongoing research programme. List of selected candidates will be displayed on the website of the Centre by 16th Oct., 2017 and the candidates will have to give their acceptance by 30th Oct, 2017, failing which the waitlisted candidates may be considered. The training program will start in January 2018 or earlier as per availability of respective PIs. The decision of the Executive Director of the Centre will be final in this regard.
