Workshop on Application of NGS
in Microbial
Ecology

Background
Recent advancements in bacterial systematics have expanded the
understanding of the microbial diversity. The data generated thus finds
implications in biotechnological research. This workshop includes
lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience to faculty members
from Colleges /Universities, PhD students, Post-doctoral fellows, etc. in
Application of NGS in Microbial Ecology.
What you will learn
Introduction of NGS Genome assembly and annotation; Whole
Metagenome Shotgun Analysis. Principles, Data sets and methods;
Complete Genome annotation- In-silico process; Gene prediction;
Genome functional annotation; Genome representation in circular view
with all gene information & sequence Information.
Expected participant
Students having basic knowledge in NGS and Microbial Ecology
Last date
The last date to receive applications is 22 October, 2017.
Selection of workshop participants
The workshop will be limited to a maximum of 10 participants. Selected
candidates would be intimated by 25 October, 2017. Working lunch and
workshop materials will be provided. For outstation participants
accommodation can be arranged in the University Guest House on
payment basis
Registration fees
Rs. 500 for Industry/ Research Organizations or Academic Institutions.
