GIAN Course on Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals: Fundamental and Mechanistic Approaches | December 11-22, 2017


We are pleased to inform you that Department of  Nutrition Biology, Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh, Haryana, is organizing a two week (December 11-22, 2017) course on Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals: Fundamental and Mechanistic Approaches under Global Initiative for Academic Network (GIAN), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. 

The course Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals: Fundamental and Mechanistic Approaches  was designed as a tool for knowledge acquisition that will contribute to research & development excellence. Emphasis will be placed on fundamental knowledge of the structure-function properties of food components coupled with specific applications in health and disease conditions. The course will end with product development lectures to illustrate potential development of novel foods formulated with bioactive extracts.

Course participants will learn these topics through lectures and tutorials. Case studies and assignments will also be shared to stimulate research motivation of participants.

The Foreign Expert for the Course will be Dr. Rotimi Aluko, Professor in the Department of Human Nutritional Sciences at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He is a world-renowned scientific leader in the functional foods and nutraceuticals research field.
