Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department
of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from
Indian Nationals to join in the following position.
Name of position: Research Associate, Microbial genomics, gene function and regulation. (01 No)
Fellowship: Rs. 36000/- per month + @20%HRA
Eligibility and Selection: Ph. D in Molecular biology and Bioinformatics, Biotechnology/Life
Sciences or allied subjects. The candidate has to be competent in sequence Analysis for molecular
phylogeny, Capable of use online databases like, MG-RAST, NCBI-NR databases. Having knowledge
in Linux, Dos Operating System, Understand Perl, C Programming Language. Candidates who have
submitted Ph.D. thesis and are waiting for viva voce may also apply. For such candidates, fellowship
amount will be that of an SRF until he/she defends Ph.D. thesis. Selection will be carried out through
application screening, followed by an interview process.

Initial appointment will be for one year. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The
decision of the institute Director regarding selection of candidates will be final and no further
