Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following positions at National
Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.
For Post Code JRF-1, the following is applicable:
(i) Post Code: JRF- 1
One position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) against
DBT funded project entitled “Random and
targeted mutagenesis of zoonotic pathogen Leptospira interrogans: in perspective of vaccine
development”, PI: Dr. Syed Mohd Faisal, Scientist-D (Duration - 1 year).
Essential qualification: Post Graduate Degree in life sciences with NET qualification or Post
Graduate degree in professional course. (Eligibility criteria as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012
dated 21.10.2014). However Non-NET candidates can also apply who will be paid as per their
eligibility.
Candidate with experience in molecular biology and Immunological techniques and
animal (mice, hamster) handling is desirable. Candidates having prior experience in working with
Leptospira will be preferred.
Fellowship amount: Rs.25000/-PM+30% HRA = 32,500/- PM as per the DST guidelines.
Age: 28 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government
instructions)
For Post Codes JRF-2 and JRF-3, the following is applicable:
DBT funded project entitled “Genomics for conservation of indigenous cattle breeds and for
enhancing milk yield, Phase-I”, PI: Dr. Subeer Majumdar, Co-PI: Sarwar Azam, Satyapal Arya.
Fellowship amount: Rs.25000/-PM+30% HRA = 32,500/- PM as per the DST guidelines.

Essential qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Computer
Sciences with NET qualification or Post Graduate degree in professional courses. (Eligibility criteria
as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014). However Non NET candidates can also
apply who will be paid as per their eligibility.
Candidate with experience in Database design and development, web-interface development,
computational biology and bioinformatics is desirable. Candidates from veterinary background
with knowledge of bioinformatics are encouraged to apply.
(iii) Post Code: JRF-3
For Two positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
Essential qualification: Post Graduate Degree in life sciences with NET qualification or Post
Graduate degree in professional course. (Eligibility criteria as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012
dated 21.10.2014). However, non-NET candidates can also apply who will be paid as per their
eligibility.
Candidate with experience in molecular biology techniques, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR and
genotyping techniques is desirable.
Candidates from veterinary background may get preference.
