Selected applicants will be appointed for a period of one year. The tenure of appointment may be extended depending on performance and availability of funds.

Project Name & Funding Authority: Understanding HPV16 E7 mediated gene regulatory mechanisms in HPV16 related cervical cancer pathogenesis [Funded by: Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology].

Project description: Cervical cancer is the most common cancer among Indian women of the lower socioeconomic strata and happens to be highly mortal. Oncogenic human papillomavirus infection, which is sexually transmitted, is the major etiological factor that causes this deadly disease. HPV infection contributes to neoplastic progression through the action of viral oncoproteins, mainly E6 and E7. In our laboratory, we have been exploring the mechanisms of cervical carcinogenesis driven by the HPV16 encoded oncogenic protein E7, employing genomics based tools coupled with functional assays. In the current proposal, we aim at understanding the impact of HPV16 E7 on global transcriptional processes in cervical cancers by regulating coding and non-coding transcripts. Besides providing mechanistic insights, this would help identify more robust target molecules for tackling such cancers. Walk-in interview is being organized for recruiting one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to conduct experiments based on clinical samples plus cell culture based experiments and one Research Associate (RA) for conducting more sophisticated experiments including ChIP-seq. RNA-seq and analysis of such data towards meeting the objectives of the project.

The date of walk-in interview is January 25, 2018 (Thursday) starting from 10 A.M. The age limit for JRF is maximum 28 years on the day of the interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Following documents are required at the time of interview:
