NIPGR Molecular Genetics/Genomics Project Vacancies 2018 January

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate in the DBT Bio CARe-2016 project entitled “Understanding the role of calcium ion channels in plant defense against Spodoptera litura herbivor”, under the supervision of Dr. Jyothilakshmi Vadassery, Scientist, NIPGR.

(A) Research Associate (RA-I) (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with strong publication record are eligible to apply. The candidate having prior research experience in biotic stress, molecular bilogy, handling chromatography and sufficient knowledge in metabolomic will be preferred.

The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Molecular Biology or related field with at least two years post M.Sc. research experience (supported with publications) are eligible to apply. Candidates having research experience in the area of molecular genetics and plant breeding will be preferred.

The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The current tenability of the project is up to August 04, 2018. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
